Michael Glenn “Mike” Johnson, 56, of Vincent Road, Roanoke Rapids passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.
Mike was born February 17, 1960in Newport News, VA to the late Otis Johnson and Lucille Brown Johnson.
Mike was a devoted family man who ALWAYS put his family first. He was an amazing father, and loved his children so very much. The new arrival of his grandson Edward brought new joy to his life. He enjoyed relaxing on the Outer Banks, surf fishing and spending quality time with his wife walking down the beach. Mike worked at Kapstone Paper Mill for 26 years. He loved his job and all the people he worked with. We know you are in Heaven now, watching over all of us, so Good-Bye for now, until we are together again with our Lord and Savior.
Mike is survived by his wife and best friend for more than 40 years, Terri Johnson; his daughter, Sara Lassiter and her husband Brandon; his son, Michael Johnson and Beth; his grandson, Edward Johnson.
A memorial service to celebrate Michael’s life will be held 6:00 P.M. Thursday, October 20, 2016 in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Bane Angles, Minister officiating. The family will receive friends following the service and other times at the home.
