David Marshall Harris Sr. passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at his home in Midlothian, Virginia.
He was born May 16, 1935 in Norfolk, Va., the son of Sallie and Herman Harris.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Betty Jernigan Harris. He graduated from John Marshall High School and attended RPI. David also served his country in the US Navy.
David retired from Dominion Power after 32 years of service in 1992.
He was a member of the Lions Club and Myrick Estates Country Club. He volunteered for Meals On Wheels.
David is survived by his two children and spouses, Kim and Frank Hicks and David and Kelly Harris, Jr. ; grandchildren, Ashley Blaney, Patrick Hicks, and Emily and Jenna Harris ; and three great-grandchildren, Cohen and Carter Blaney and Mirabella Hicks.
A private burial is scheduled, and a service is planned to be held in Chesterfield and details will be announced later.
His family was honored to have him for 82 years and he will be truly missed.
