David Marshall Harris, Sr. passed away Tuesday January 16, 2018 at his home in Midlothian, Virginia.
David was born May 16, 1935 in Norfolk, Va. He was the son of Sallie and Herman Harris. He was proceeded in death by his wife Betty Jernigan Harris.
He graduated from John Marshall High School and attended RPI. David also served his country in the US Navy.
David retired from Dominion Power after 32 years of service in 1992. He was a member of the Lions Club and Myrick Estates Country Club. He and Betty enjoyed volunteering with Meals on Wheels for several years.
David is survived by his two children and their spouses, Kim Hicks and her husband Frank; David Harris, Jr. and his wife Kelly; grandchildren, Ashley Blaney, Patrick Hicks, and Emily and Jenna Harris; his three great-grandchildren, Cohen and Carter Blaney and Mirabella Hicks. His family was honored to have him for 82 years and he will be truly missed.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm Thursday, January 25th at Second Branch Baptist Church, 12217 Second Branch Road, Chesterfield, VA 23838.
